Hello...I have some source movies from TV that are in 16:9 widescreen format.  When I open VideoWave I choose 16:9 format, keep source.  It then converst to Mpeg.  After editing the duration I export it to MyDVD.  In MyDVD I make sure the properties is set to 16:9.  After burning to a DVD the display on my Widescreen TV is letterboxed on all 4 sides.   :)   It is in a 4x3 width but still widescreen in height so the picture is small.  I have as much black border on all four sides as I do movie.  I took the same source file (ms-dvr) and used Intervideo DVD Creator (came on my pc) and it creates the same movie in normal Widescreen as if you were watching the movie on TV when it was broadcasted.  I have the normal black borders on the top and bottom edges but the picture extends to the sides of my widescreen T.V. properly.

Any ideas on settings I should be choosing to get a full widescreen with my movie files?  I created a photo slideshow and burned it with MyDVD in 16:9 format.  It displays properly in Widescreen.

What you may not be aware of is that those shows are being broadcast as 4:3.  Like SCIFI channel and HBO. The shows are 16:9, but it is being broadcast as letterboxed 4:3.  THE ONLY exception is it you have HDTV channels which are broadcast  in true 16:9.

To solve your problem - sounds like you selected a 16:9 project and then added the file.  A 4:3 file would indeed have black bars on the left and right. Start a new 4:3 project and add the file.  I think you'll get what you want.
