Hello all,

I borrowed a friends Hitachi DVD Cam video recorder. The footage was recorded onto 8cm DVD-RWs in the VR format and finalised. I have tried to use Toast 8.0.5 to extract the footage and save as a QuickTime movie for importing into iMovie, etc.

I have managed to do this with some of the chapters but not all of them. Most of the time I get this error message:


Not sure why this is happening. Any suggestions please post. Thanks

The official process is to use the Toast Media Browser. Insert the DVD and choose DVD as the format in the media browser. Double click on what appears in the browser window to see the individual titles recorded to the disc. Drag the titles you want to the Toast Video window. Toast does the extraction.

Is that how you're doing it? Are some of the ones that don't extract on the same disc with ones that do?

When recording in VR mode it isn't necessary to finalize a disc before using the media browser to extract the video.
