I captured the video to my iMac. At the end of the process, I choose to import the converted movie into an iMovie event.  Easy VHS created the iMovie event folder but didn't import the movie. When I tried to manually import the movie, the file was grayed out - was not a selection. In iMovie, the file extension is .MOV but when I look at it in the Info/Finder the extension is .MPG. I can't open this file in QuickTime either (Not a movie file) but I can view it using the Toast Video Player.

Is there a way for me to import this file into iMovie? I would like to edit it before burning to DVD.

You are not the only one; look at some of the recent threads and you'll find a discussion of the issue and the proposed fix. Read this one first.
