I've been trying to backup a bunch of picture files from an old hard drive to a DVD-R disk. The old hard drive was hooked up externally through a USB connection. I dragged and dropped the files in Windows Explorer. When I was done, I tried to close the disk while ejecting it and got the following error message........ "Failed to prepare media for cd-rom or dvd-rom compatibility." When I clicked OK the disk was ejected. Tried all kinds of different "advanced" settings, but get the same results. I'm a Novice at this "burning" game and need some help.

I have........
Easy Media Creator 9 Suite. Bought and registered 2 years ago.
Vista Ultimate 64-bit OS.

Thanks in advance for any help!

That sure sounds like you used D2D instead of the Authoring program, Creator Classic.

D2D is quick and easy and most users lose all of their data over time when using it… That is a common error to D2D in V9. V9 was also the very last version to have D2D…

If that is what you used, best bet is to trash the disc now and use Classic.

Thanks for the reply, Jim! I've ordered Creator 2009 and I'll wait for it to arrive before I fool with it again.

Have a great weekend!
