Windows Vista
Roxio Creator Basic v9
Version: 9.0.095
Build: 900B95J, HMP
I have some full length movie files (avi) that I want want to burn to DVD.
Roxio wont even accept any of the files to get me started.
The Roxio tutorial says Roxio works with many file types.
I don't want to edit or add anything to the files, just burn them as-is to DVD for my DVD player.

Hello Unstresst,
You have an 'OEM' version of Easy Media Creator 9. These were given away by manufacturers with computers, or with optical drives.
These versions of the software have been deliberately restricted in the things they can do, and in most cases are worse than useless for serious work. The tutorials and help files refer to FULL versions of the software.
Please see this topic for a detailed discussion and comments on this. Feel free to come back here if you have further questions.

You have stripped down version of EMC 9 and it may not be enabled for video import etc.. I suspect that it is from HP. OEM versions are supported by the vendor. EMC 9 is no longer supported by Roxio.
Brendon,
Sorry but I was typing when you posted.

We try to help here, regardless of whether you have an OEM version or a retail one, but the OEM versions of EMC 9 and its offspring were so thoroughly castrated that there's very little which can be done with them, I'm sorry.
