I get a message to activate mpeg 2 codec but activation fails. Then it suggests activating manually with computer disconnected to internet and to choose offline activation - then it asks for 25 digit product and the only number I have has 17 letters and numerals which is the CD key.  Then it says go on line to activation.roxis.com/activateme/ and be prepared to enter "the following product key" but does not list a product key???  Anyone having this problem?

Creator 2009 does not require mpeg2 codec activation. EMC 9 (which is 2 years and versions ago) did require this action. So what program do you really have - be specific and give the full name

Digital Guru - I followed carefully but would never receive product 25 digit key in orange - only blank - I read of the same thing happening to others.  Does Roxio give me the produt key always or was it something I was supposed to have/  I only have the CD key.  It seems I am stopped because I am not reciving this following the recommended process.

Tried manual activation but after choosing activate offline I am told to copy the 25 digit product key listed in orange - there is not such key listed,  it is blank

Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus and try the manual activation process step-by-step.

For whatever reason, the manual activation worked, when the problem first reared its ugly head, shortly after EMC 9 was realeased.

I have  not heard of anyone seeing the orange numbers, in the past 2 years or more.  It is doubtful that anything will ever be done to get it up and working again, so your only chance of getting up and running is to do clean installs until activation goes through on its own.

Pretty dam*ed sad, isn't it?
