I never used to have trouble burning CD's or DVD's until lately.  Now, I get a failure everytime.

Even when all I'm trying to do is make a backup copy of a CD or DVD that I burned.

The error message of course always says that the original or blank disk is dirty or fingerprinted.  Which it's not.  And I always get the error message:  Sense: 05  ASC: 64  ASCQ: 00 (Command BE) --- this is accompanied with a slew of .dll listings.

px.dll
pxafs.dll
pxdrv.dll
pxmas.dll
pxsfs.dll
pxwave.dll
pxwma.dll

I have the Creator SP4 installed.  I have the latest version of px.dll installed (4.10.28.500).  I have the latest drivers of my CD/DVD drive installed (Matsushita DVD-RAM UJ-851S ATA).

I am really frustrated.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

Have you tried to burn a CD with VISTA or another program?

Go to the Device Manager and uninstall the DVD/CD driver (Open the DVD/CD in the Device Manager) then Right click on the DVD/CD device then Uninstall. Reboot your computer and Vista will reinstall the driver. If that fails then delete the upper/lower filters: http://support.micro...b/314060/EN-US/

If you delete the upper/lower filters then again try VISTA to burn a CD. If that works then try Roxio. If Roxio fails then you will have to do a clean install of Roxio followed by SP4.

I was trying to see more info regarding your burner on the web but the search hits showed problems/complaints about that burner than anything else. sad.gif
