Hi,
I currently have EMC 10 using Windows XP sp2 running great with no Problems. I really want to add the capability to convert VHS to DVD.
I've Read many horror stories about installing Creator 2009. I've read that you must uninstall earlier versions of Roxio (when I uninstalled Roxio 8 I lost all my drives and had to take my computer to a repair shop)
If I were to purchase 9, what would be the recommended install procedure, and if any of you'all have done this before with and XP system..how did it go??
Any specifics to look out for??
I'm really apprehensive about changing, since my EMC 10 works so good, but I need the ability to convert VHS to DVD (Preferably electronically).
Thanks,
DD

You are out of luck DD--The program VHStoDVD is not compatible with the previous versions of EMC and C2009. The VHStoDVD program has similar program items but not nearly as extensive as C2009. You might 3want to think about getting the USB 2.0 Capture device that Roxio has that will mate with C2009.

Some systems do have trouble with installing Creator 2009…
Some systems also have trouble with PhotoShop, AutoCAD, Dr. Word, etc…
The more complex the software, the more trouble it might have and Video software is about as complex as it gets!
You can install it with EMC 10 – no problem. Why you would want to do that, I haven’t a clue?
However NO SOFTWARE will convert analogue to digital!!! For that you have to have HARDWARE.
Roxio Video Capture USB is one such hardware device. It can be installed on any PC meeting its’ requirements and works with almost any capture software… I have used it with V6, 7, 8, 9 & 2009. (somehow I lost my EMC 10 download )
Or you could go with the Easy VHS to DVD which includes a cut back version of Creator 2009 and the Device.
But the Creator 2009 Suite does not come with that hardware device normally. Roxio offers a Bundle deal or upgrade from time to time and some Retail stores have a custom version with it.

Jim,
Are you saying that the USB Capture device should work with my EMC 10?? If that's the case then my problem is solved!
I was under the impression that I needed C2009 along with a capture device to convert VHS to DVD.
I'll need the Usb device one way or the other,... So I think I'll go ahead and order it and try it with my EMC 10.
I haven't done any capture before, what's the proceedure??
Thanks,
DD
