I am using Roxio Media Import in Easy Media Creator 10 (Deluxe Suite) to capture video from my VCR trough Dazzle Video Capture Device to my external Hard Disc (identified by letter G). I have 50GB free space in said HD but in the image Media Import windows says "Left Space.. : 4GB.
I was transferring a movie from the VCR to my Disc G and the process stopped because of "there was not enough space in the disc" I mean this movie stopped once it reached 4GB.
Can someone help me to set up the right amount of free space (50GB) of my external HD in the Roxio Media Import?
Thanks for your help

I think that you may be missing something in how you are relating your problem, but the first question that comes to mind is, is your hard drive an external, which I would believe that it is.

And the 2nd thing is, if it is an external hard drive, there is a good chance that it is formatted FAT32, and the file that you are trying to download, will result in a file size larger than 4GB. You need to format that drive, NTFS, or you will be limited to a maximum 4GB file size.

Also, it is not a good idea to capture to an external drive. There is less chance of a hiccup, when you capture to an internal hard drive, then transfer that file to the external, if you are strapped for hard drive space, on your internal.

There are less wires to go through by capturing to your internal hard drive.

Yes it is an external drive.
I don't know if it is FAT32 or NTFS.
Before I captured longer movies to this external drive and I did not have that problem. I have 50GB of free space in the drive.
As you suggested I will try to capture to my internal hard drive and to transfer it to the external one.
Thank you very much for your answer.
I really appreciate it.

When your external is on, go to My Computer, right click on the drive, and see what the File System says. If it isn't NTFS, format it to NTFS, if you intend to use it for archiving video files.
