recorder is not recognized

I receive this message from roxio when I try to record to a cd:
"There are no supported recorders available. Make sure that your recorder is powered on and that all cables are properly connected."
Help!!! sad.gif

Download, extract and run this PXEngine. If that doesn't correct it, please post back with some details including your Roxio product name/version # and the apps/settings you are using to try to burn a disc with.
