What does that mean? My music is on a network drive, and RC2009 won't let me access it. I just keep getting that error message (the one in the subject line) when I click on the network tab in the "edit audio" view. The drive my music is on won't even show up.

I just got a new laptop with Vista. I used to use Easy CD Creator on my XP laptop, and it had no problem grabbing music from my network drive. Now all I get is this message, and I don't know what to do.

Nothing else on the network has changed. I can still play music from my network drive through iTunes and Windows Media Player on my new laptop. I even have the same router as before.

PLEASE HELP!

If you copy your music from the network drive to the computer's internal HD and then access the music from that HD, does it give the same problem?

Nope, that works just fine. I just copied an album from my network drive to my computer's HD, went to "edit audio," and was able to load a track right up.

As far as I know, Creator 2009 (or any Roxio product) does not work well (if at all) across network drives. Its always better to have your resources on your internal orn an external drive.

Weird. I just assumed it was a Vista thing, since Easy CD Creator had no problem finding my network drive on my old XP computer. I tried installing Easy CD Creator on this computer and got some kind of driver conflict, so I figured it wasn't Vista compatible and went out and bought Creator 2009. Works fine, except for the network thing.

I guess I can copy the files I want to my desktop, edit them, and then ship them back over to my network drive. But that just slows the process down and adds a couple of unnecessary steps ...
