I just burned a CD using an ISO of a program I that I purchased. The *.zip file included the *.iso file and a *.png of the disc label. I thought I'd get fancy and, instead of just labeling the disc with a marker, would burn my first lightscribe disc (yippee!).

I fiddled with the label program that came with EMC10, removed all of the objects, and added the included *.png file. After sizing the image, and instructing the program to print to the lightscribe disc (and after being told I needed to turn the disc over), the preview window showed a disc with just a black circle. I'm not printing yet because I suspect I'll get just what I'm seeing in the preview.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you using Label Creator?

You might want to update your Lightscribe software. http://www.lightscribe.com/downloadSection...dex.aspx?id=810

When you select print, be sure that your printer is actually your CD/DVD Lightscribe drive.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the suggestions!

I am using Label Creator. I just downloaded the lightscribe software using the link you provided and updated it. I also made sure that the "printer" selected was the CD/DVD lightscribe writer.

In the print preview, I have the same problem (a black image where the *.png should appear).

Any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

Are you using the .png as your background?   Be sure to select one of the Lightscribe templates to start with.

I had set up a template based on a post from 2007 that talked about the backgrounds so it wasn't that (a great suggestion, however!).

What it did end up being was, after following your suggestions as noted previously, I committed the cardinal sin in Windows Vista - I forgot to restart the computer. Once I did that, the preview worked fine. *slaps head*

Thanks for your help Dave :-)
