I have creator basic v9 and want to burn copies of movies from burned dvd's. I tried with my version but it says that my version will not support files that contain AC3 audio and that I need to upgrade to a version that will support it. My question is should I upgrade to Creator 2009 or upgrade MYDVD? I think I would like creator 2009 but I want to make sure that Creator 2009 supports this type of audio file.

Cannot make the decision for you…
I have found through the years that I am better off having more software than I need at the time of purchase than just having enough to get by.
You have a ‘get by’ version now and while it worked for a time, it left you unable to do what you need.
If you “upgrade” to a lesser version like Video Lab 10 or MyDVD 10 it is only a matter of time.
Still your system may be a limiting factor. Look through the Requirements of each and make sure your PC meets, or better yet, exceeds the minimums. Link

Some of the stripped down, free versions like yours, have the support for AC3 audio disabled. Creator 2009 does support AC3 audio.
