Try these fixes:

CD/DVD drive is not recognized by Windows

or if only Roxio does not recognize your CD/DVD drive

Reboot between fixes and again test.

PxEngine 4

PxEngine 3

Does Windows see your drive?

Go to Control Panel > Device Manager and look for the CD/DVD device

Do you see any yellow exclamation points?

If your CD/DVD drive is seen by Windows then do the following:

Clean install instructions for Creator 2009 on Windows XP

Clean install instructions for Creator 2009 on Windows Vista

Then reboot and apply SP4.Creator 2009 sp4

You haven't answered any of my questions. What is the exact error message that you are seeing?

OK then try this:

Go to Device Manager > CD/DVD drive and right mouse click and select uninstall. Then reboot and the Operating System will reinstall your device driver.

Once rebooted, what does Device Manager indicate about your CD/DVD device? Look at my previous questions.

You are not answering anything. All you do is keep repeating cdr4, cdr4…

Dave asked you to do 3 things, it appears you did nothing. He then asked for more details and you brush it off.

If you don’t answer, people will stop asking…

1) Did you try Dave fix?  The first one -drive not recognized by Windows.  If you did and it doesn't work, then the problem is with your hardware and not the Roxio program.
2) Is this an internal drive/burner?
3)What brand?
4)Did you check the connections?
5)Did the drive come with an installation disc?  Have you tried that?
6) Are you using AVG free?
7) What operating system?  XP or Vista?

Eight questions; I hope we get 8 answers; none of them with cdr4 in them.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Right mouse click on the device (cd/dvd) with the yellow exclamanation point and look for an error code. The drivers are failing to load so we need to know what error you are receiving.

Something is blocking the driver from loading. Do you have any of the following software installed? iTunes, ZTUNE or Nero ----Please answer this question.

Also try this:

Go to the device manager and click the plus sign before DC/DVD drive, right mouse click and uninstall the drive. Then click the plus sign of ide ATA/ATAPI controllers and uninstall the secondary IDE channel. Reboot you system twice and the OS should reinstall the drivers.

Do a full system search including hidden folders for the following module:  AFS.sys  If you have this module it may be the problem.

The OS can't find the driver unless you point to its location on the hard drive or insert the XP installation CD.  Click on the ATA channel and select update the driver.
