For some reason lately, when I start Roxio , the Roxio Update Manager starts and tries to update UM.MSI.
I pointed the path to the path of the DVD, but it says it's not a valid installation package.
I have to keep hitting escape until the process finally goes away. It usually take about 2 to 3 minutes of Wndows Installer
trying to install an update.
As far as I know, I have the latest version installed. Any idea how to stop this problem?

Try this and see if it helps.
1.Launch the Roxio Home Application.
2. Click on Tools and select options
3. Uncheck check for updates
