I have an Imac G5 and had P1 for years and it worked fine. A few months ago my internal Superdrive died, so I bought an external, but when I dragged a Video_TS folder into the main window, it would crash. So did a re-install and nothing changed. Toast 8 would compress, but not burn. I upgraded to P3.3 but the same thing happens: Popcorn will compress the folder and display the burn Progress window, write the intro (the light on the front of the drive flashes) and then it stops. The progress bar doesn't move and the time remaining doesn't change.

Following the threads in other topics, I tried moving the Video_TS folder to the desktop and selected it as a DVD Video, then save as Disk Image. Then I tried to burn the Disk Image, but the same thing happened, Popcorn compressed the folder, wrote the intro, then hung. The disk in the drive is spinning furiously, but the light is not flashing and the progress bar is not moving.

I know the drive works because I can burn folders from the finder. I know from other posts that others have had similar problems, has anyone come up with a solution recently?

When you chose Save as Disc Image was the disc image created or did Popcorn stall before writing it to the hard drive.

There are cases where the drive goes to sleep waiting for Popcorn to finish compressing the VIDEO_TS folder and Popcorn doesn't wake it up so the burn stalls at the start. The solution for that is to first create a disc image file and then burn the disc image using the Image File setting. Did you try that and it didn't work? Don't insert a blank disc until you are ready to start burning the disc image file.

I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
