Roxio freezes and hangs up system when attempting to burn project from any application.  When the burn process starts in MYDVD the project validates and then the program freezes with nothing further.

I have tried all the other recomendations offered in the support forum.   I know the issue is not with the drive.  The hardware works fine with all other applications.

I can not even get to the stage of saving the project as an image file.   I am in depserate need of some insight.  I have spent hours creating the project and need to start production on the DVD discs.

I am using windows VISTA.

Have you installed SP4? Creator 2009 sp4

Resolving General Burning Issues

In addition to the above be sure that the following is up-to-date:

Video driver
Directx

Use a quality media such as Verbatim and use a R/W media for testing and practice.

You could also try using Videowave to build your project and then save it as an .iso file. Then burn the .iso to DVD.  This will separate the process so you can better determine where the problem resides.

I have installed the SP4 and updated Direct X.

I will try to Work with Video Wave 11.  What about the menu and Chapter Menu working with Video wave 11.

If you can start the "burn process" then you are on the same page as creating the image file. Uncheck the burn to disc checkbox and checkmark the "image" file creation checkbox. If you do not see this then you will have to explain step-by-step what you are doing.

You use Videowave only to assemble you video such as adding the photos, video clips and audio clips, inserting transitions or applying video effects. You cannot create an iso file in Videowave. Menus and chapters can only be created in myDVD not Videowave.

While in Videowave you could outout your production to a DVD meg, best quality format file. This will tell you if there is a problem with some part of your project that has nothing to do with burning.

From the project created in MY DVD, the burn process does not initiate.   I have no options to change file type, drive destination, speed.  It shows the validating bar for a sec than freezes.

Launch the Creator 2009 Home application and click on get disk information. Does Roxio see your CD/DVD drive?

When you launch MyDVD, go to Tools > Options and click on graphics test. If hardware is selected then try software.

Also, tell us about your PC specifications and what operating system and level are you using.

Roxio is not detecting my drive.  Roxio was very helpful on the phone today.  The burning screen comes up after I hit the burn icon.  Now Roxio is not picking up the DVD drive.  I unistalled the driver, powered down, disconected the driver, powered back up, powered down and reconnected.  The Drive is working properly but not recognized by ROXIO
