am not really sure what you are trying to do. "Copy a DVD" really is not very usefull nor is the repeated "it didn't work". Please suppyly some imformation as to exactly what you are trying to do, what program from Creator 2009 you are using.. What error messages if any are you getting? What kind of DVD are you trying to copy? Audio, video, data? What make of DVD media are you using? What is "cdburner xp"? Obviously if you have problems with that there is something wrong with you system, it may well be the media you are using. Are you disabling anit-virus checking, shutting down the internet and not using the computer while doing a burn?
Could you list your system specs?

Thank you for replying!! I will try to answer your questions.
system:
Windows XP Professional service pack 3 v.5755
pentium 4 cpu 2.66ghz
1.00 gb ram
pioneer dvd-106
tsst corp cddvdw shs222a
cd burner is a free burning program
I did not disable the anti virus checking
I did not shut down the internet (I have comcast cable)
I di not run any other program while attempting to burn a dvd
The blank DVD's are Memorex 16x 4.7 gb 120 min
One of the dvd's I tried to copy was of photos that were from the kodak program for my kodak camera and I think was created using Roxio 6. The other dvd I tried to copy was from an in studio tv show which I assume would be audio/video.
When I installed roxio creator 2009 and ran the "copy Disc" program. It would not run. I don't remember what it said so I went to the roxio site and downloaded and installed service pack 4. I opened up roxio creator 2009 and then selected the copy disc program. I put the audio/video dvd in the pioneer dvd player and a blank dvd in the tsst corp cddvdw shs222a burner and when it was readyI burned the dvd. The program said the burning was successful. So I removed both dvd's and closed the roxio program. The I put the burned dvd in the pioneer player to see if it would paly and it did. So I opened the roxio creator 2009 program up again and selected the copy disc program and tried to copy the dvd again. This time it ran for about a minute or so and was ejected saying there was an error. I clicked on "Advance" and got this message:
Sence:03 ASC:11 ASCQ: 05 (command 28)
Px.dll:4.10.28.500
Px.AFS.DLL:4.10.28.500
pxdrv.DLL:1.02.34a
pxmas.dll:4.10.28.500
pxwave.dll:4.10.28.500
pxwma.dll:1,0,0,3
I contacted tech support and they told me to try burning at a slower speed. Close everything in msconfig, upgrade the firmware and the Px. I did all that. I tried to make another copy of the dvd and it worked. I turned off the roxio program and played the dvd and it played. I opened the roxio program and the copy disc program to make another copy and it didn't copy and I got the same error message as above. I decided to download the free program "cdburner xp". I opened it and burned a dvd and it was successful. I tried to make another copy and it didn't copy. I didn't write down the error message. I contacted tech support and they told me to save the project as a disc image and try to burn it. I printed the instructions on how to do that but cannot get it to work. I asked tech support for help on doing this and haven't heard anything for three days. I took the dvd to a friends house along with a blank dvd. He has the same roxio creator 2009 and had no problems burning the dvd. Why would my computer burn one and then not another? If you need more info please let me know.
Thanks

Since ypu are just copying video and image data files and do not expect these to be played on a DVD or image viewer other than you computer, player, can you just copy the disc using Creator Classic (Burn Data Disc Advanced) or just use Windows to copy the files? If those don't work, then we have to look at DRM protection of that Studio Show and the format of the image files.

Thank you for responding!
I went to start, all programs, Roxio Creator 2009, applications, creator classic and opened creator classic. I then inserted the dvd and in the upper box I got VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS under name. I could not find something that said Burn data disc advanced. I was probably looking in the wrong place. So I highlighted VIDEO_TS and clicked on add. A screen came up saying: Error- Creator Classic is an application for creating data discs. You have selected a DVD-Video as source. Creator classic cannot copy this disc. Please use the data and copy tools to copy this disc. I also tried this with a dvd I have photos on and the same thing happened. I looked up help on the program to try and figure out what data and copy tools are with no luck. It is very intimidating when you don't know where to find things.

Ah, that's not what I thought you said you were doing. That is why I replied the way I did. Where did you get the DVD; could it be a commercial disc and DRM protected? Is the image disc a data disc or is it a slide show or perhaps a picture disc. Please give us more information about the discs and what you are trying to accomplish.

How much free space do you have on your hard drive? When did you last defrag? Use CCleaner to get rid of the junk files and Auslogics Defragmenter to defrag (it is fast so don't be surprised). Do not use the registry cleaner in CCleaner. Just in case, turn off or stop your anti-virus.
You've upgraded the px engines. Did you upgrade to 3 or 4? Some people say 3 is better.
I meant what you are burning to when I made the comment about Memorex and store brands. Look at the disc you are trying to copy. Do you see any scratches? Perhaps there is a small one that your computer can't read. Try cleaning them with a commercial disc cleaner/scratch remover.
You may also want to try Video Copy and Convert to make an ISO file from the disc and then copy that to a new DVD.( See image). If that doesn't work, it rules out the burner part of the equation. It could still be the reader or the disc themselves.

V6 Creator Classic could create a playable DVD Movie. V7 could not but V8 could. It was finally removed from V9 on.
This is not his only problem, but just put Creator Classic completely out of your mind when dealing with Video!
The suggestions Steve posted, with pictures too, should get the job done with no fuss.

Auslogics is great! I don't have to wait hours to defrag. I misinformed you. It was not "copy creator " but "copy disk" with creator 2009. I do use "ccleaner" and have used the registry cleaner feature. I don't know how to tell which px engine I upgraded to. I have 216 gb on one hard drive and 106 gb on another hard drive. I will try the other suggestions and let you know.
Thanks!
