I used to be able to use my CD drive to copy CD discs and to drag and drop, but then about 18 months ago, I noticed that instead of showing my recorder in the lower right hand corner of the screen, it announced "No Recorder". I spent lots of time trying to solve the problem and eventually bought an external DVD read/write drive with a USB connection. Roxio still announced no recorder, but I was able to burn a DVD of a slide show - although I'm not sure now whether I did that in Windows Media Center or with Roxio.

Today, I wanted to make a copy of my DVD with a slide show. Roxio could read the disc and make a disc image on my hard drive but disc image was the only option I had in the destination box.

Has anyone an idea why Roxio won't allow me to copy to the DVD drive.

I'm using Windows Vista with Roxio "Easy" Creator 9. Unfortunately, it has never been easy for me.

Download the 9.1 patch for Vista, here:

I am guessing that the program you are using is Easy Media Creator 9.

Yes, you have a simple burning engine problem, and Roxio can't see your drives [Windows can, and windows does the reading from your drive].

Try the PX Engine installer HERE to reinstall your burning engine.

I blame it all on Global Warming / Global Cooling / Global Staying the Same [pick one]
