I have EMC 8 ver 3 on an XP machine. I've been able to burn DVD+R disks in the past. Now, I've managed to burn a 1 hr. video on a DVD+RW disk which works as it should. For some reason, I can't  burn the same video on the DVD+R disks. It just ruins them. I've reinstalled the program but it hasn't corrected anything. Does anyone have any suggestions what to look for?

I'd suggest a clean install rather than just a reinstall, to restore the program to its factory settings.
Here are the clean install instructions for EMC 7, 8, 9, or 10 in XP [even though they're only labeled 9 and 10].

Thanks for the fast reply. When I reinstalled the software, I followed most of the steps in that link. However, I've solved the problem. First I use video wave to edit the file. Then I burn an iso file. I then use "burn image" in the copy section of the main screen and all works perfectly.
Thanks again.

Someone on the Roxio forums wrote something to the effect;

Plan A is most effective when the thing you're working on
understands that Plan B involves a sledge hammer and a pipe wrench.
