When trying to burn either photoslideshows or movies to CD using MyDVD Express I get the 80004005 error. Almost certainly this is due to the graphics card not being DirectX 9.0 compatible. Is there any way to get MyDVD Express to use software to do the movie encoding despite it not having an options menu?

Besides your graphics card not being compatible you also can't create a "DVD" movie on a CD. If myDVDExpress cannot be switched to software mode then youre dead in the water with that system.
