I am having an issue with Roxio 8 and the LP burning software. I am using the onboard audio and have Vista to record from my record player. Everything is working fine with the exception of being able to hear the playback either before or while recording. if If record the LP I can then listen to the digital music I just recorded, but while recorded I am unable to hear what I am recording? Any thoughts?
I do not have any options under Audio In under the LP burning software. Is this a Windows setting?

EMC 8 is not compatible with Vista. Time to upgrade to a new version of Roxio, or upgrade (back) to XP.
You are one of the very very few people that say that all else, with EMC 8, works well with Vista. Do VideoWave, and MyDVD, work well for you?
And, sound is handled differntly in Vista, so browse the forums for ways to work around the way Vista botched sound related things.

Some on-board sound chips simply do not allow one to hear what is being recorded. I (almost) remember a work-around involving a jumper from ????to ???? to allow one to hear what is being recorded. Perhaps someone else remembers this better than I do.

Roxio 8 works fine for what I need it for. This is the first time I have used the LP recorder. I am using the LP and tape assistant in the audio section of Roxio 8. It appears I will just not be able to hear the audio while recording. Not much of an issue, since it appears the recorded LP can be heard and manipulated once in Roxio as an audio file.
Google searched yeilded Vista as the issue...
