I am copying multiple .wav clips from individual songs to be used for rehearsal.  These are commercial .wav clips found on song trax. The last clip always has very low volume at it's beginning, gradually increasing to its normal volume level.  If you can help solve this problem, it would be appreciated!

Copying to what? From what?  Computer CD, DVD, tape?  What are you using to burn?
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
