I bought this Roxio 9 a few years ago and have slowly uninstalled everything but the drag to disk function because I have a number of DVD disk for data storage that will not close out. They work, but only on my PC, and only because of the Roxio program. I also have a recurring problem with the PC just shutting down in the middle of copying and burning while using D to D. It gives me the option to close out the disk for other PCs but stops about a quarter of the way through and says that the disk is not properly formatted. A task that Drag to Disk is supposed to do automatically. I actually forgot how to use a CD/ROM drive for data backup the Windows way since this Roxio thing has taken over. I want it out of my PC completely. ITS JUNK.

I sure hope that it was important data, because Drag To Disc is the most unstable method of backing up important data.

Instead of uninstalling everything but Drag to Disc, you should have uninstalled the D2D and used Creator Classic, which is rock solid.

My advice. If you have to format a disk/disc, you are playing Russian Roulette, and you should use something else.

Nothing lost yet but I cant use these disks any other way. I've tried. What is this Creator Classic you speak of? Is it an app in Roxio?

Yes, it is a program in the Roxio suite.

Ok I've reinstalled the whole Roxio suite again and updated it to Version 9.1. I don't want to use Drag to Disk but I need it to work for something because its the only way to retrieve data on a handful of disks that I cannot get to close. I cant seem to get the D2D to allow me to enable my CD/DVD drive now. Just says No Recorder or Drive is Busy try again later. It did this yesterday before I updated it but I was able to enable the drive ok. I had been using this updated version before as well so I know it will recognize it. Just cant find an option to make it happen. ???

If you want to recover that data, download CDRoller or ISO Buster. Either one of those programs should be able to tell you whether or not you can recover your data. If it says you can, then you have to buy the software to recover the data.
