Hi All,

Hoping somebody can help me. I've just successfully made some films in Creator2009 (after a huge amount of technical issues with the s/w and very little useful help from Roxio customer support! )...Now the films don't play back on any DVD players I try ! (they are new and play all formats). I can only play the DVD in my laptop.

Does anyone know why this is the case and what I can do to fix it? I used DVD RW's and I did read somewhere about having to finalise the disc but I don't know how to do that or if its relevant or correct?

All feedback and advice gratefully received. biggrin.gif Thought I would try this forum rather than waste my time with the Roxio people....

Thanks

J

No need to finalize discs; that is done automatically.

With the limited information you provided, it sounds like you made a data disc- one that has video files on it but does not have the file extras to play on a DVD. Go through this "Work Flow Strategy" to see if you have done all the right steps. If not, you may want to retry. If you have done all the right things and they still don't play, throw out any Memorex or store brand discs and get some Verbatim and come back with more information.

Did you check to see if the players will play RW discs? Check for dash RW and +RW.

Hi and thanks for reply.

I've created the the videos in VideoWave then simplly clicked on Output and then Export as and made A DivX file. Then copied this DivX file to to a DVD.

The workflow strategy lookss hideous ! and it talks about using MyDVD which I thought was only required when wanting to finese a DVD with chapteres, etc? I simple want to create asimply video file and burn it to a DVD.

Both players can play -RW and +RW DVD's, I checked, and they are both high spec new DVD players. I will look at getting better quality DVD's though, although I'm not sure this is the root of the problem.

thanks

J

Not all DVD players are able to play DivX video , perhaps not even your "high spec new DVD players". A DivX video on a DVD is simply not a vide DVD but just another data DVD. If you want to create a proper video DVD you have to use myDVD which means following the "work-flow strategy" which is really not that involved.

What make/model are thos new DVD players?
