I am buying a Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS3 point and shoot camera, which takes 720P HD video in the newish AVCHD Lite format.
Does anyone know if Roxio 9 or other software work with this format?
As far as I know, Panasonic is first on the market with this and the camera is being snapped up as fast as they can produce it.
Thanks,
ddd

AVCHD lite isn't really new. It just means the camcorder can only do 720p and nothing else. 720p has been around for years so Panasonic certainly isn't the first to use it. Canon TX1 had it several years ago. However, Creator 2009 does have a problem with audio on 'some' computers with these files. I have some samples from the Panasonic Lumix TZ7. Video imports fine, but no audio on my machine.

Thanks Digital Guru. That's interesting, if troubling.
It implies either buggy implementation of the codec on Panasonic's part or bugs in more obscure subsets of the codec on Roxio's. I guess.
Any other opinions or experiences are welcome.
Thanks,

If you would like to upload a 15-20 sec clip somewhere directly from the ZS3, I would be willing to check it out. There are several free services like YouSendIt or UpforDown.
