My father recorded some movies using his mini DVD camcorder. I would like to put those movies on my computers hard drive. I can't figure how to go about that. Can someone give me step by step instructions?
How do I transfer a home movie on DVD to my hard drive

First, create a new folder, on your hard drive, and give it a name that has something to do with the video you are going to transfer to your hard drive.
Next, make sure the miniDVD is finalized, put it in your computer DVD drive, and copy all of the files/folders, from the miniDVD, to the folder you made on your hard drive.
Do you plan on editing those videos? If so, open VideoWave, click on Add Photo/Video, browse to the folder where you copied the files, click on the Video_TS folder, and bring in the video for editing.
Once you are done editing, save the production, close VideoWave, open MyDVD, click on Add New Movie, bring in your VideoWave prodcution, and make final edits to the menu, etc, then burn it to a DVD.
Life is good!

Someone already has. If the videos are on a mini-DVD, put it in your DVD reader and copy the files to a folder on your hard drive.

You can also watch this and this.
Look in the tips and tricks area of this section of the forum for more information.
Just to make sure, do you have Easy Media Creator 9, Creatore 2009 or an OEM that came on your computer?
Weclome back, it has been awhile.
I forgit to mention , but grandpabruce did, the DVD must be finalized in the camcorder.

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
