Can anyone help me using Videowave in Easy Creator 10 when editing videos MPG 2 files. When trimming and editing the prevue screen freezes and you can not do anything then. I use ctl/alt/del to get out of the program, but naturally I lose my edited copy.
The audio still plays, but the prevue screen is frozen on another image.
I am using Windows Vista with 3mb ram Intel dual processor 3500 and 320gb hd. Itried both Windows Vista and Windows 7. Both do the same.
I downloaded the newest update SP from Roxio and still have the same problem. These are older videos VOB files on a DVD that have been transfered to my hard drive to work with. Everything works fine in burning to a DVD using an unedited copy
of the original video.
However, when I try to use Videowave to edit the original videos, eg. triming and editing brightness, etc the prevue will freeze and I can not proceed.
I have reached the end of my knowledge to fix this problem and about ready to buy another program as this Creator 10 will not edit my HD files from my HD Camcorder. I am relulant to buy the Creator 2009 if I will still have the problems.
I am using a brand new HP Laptop computer, so I don't think I have the problem with my Laptop.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Has it ever worked on your brand new laptop???
Your lap may be new but it is not any ‘newer’ that when the HDD image was approved by QC… Thus your Video drivers may be out of date and you could be missing several firmware updates.
Exactly what version of EMC 10 do you have (Help – About)
Put your camcorder problem in a new Topic, it will be too confusing to try to run both in one Topic. And add some details beyond ‘Don’t Work’

The version of Rosio EMC 10 is 10.1.226.
I have no problem with my HD Camcorder software as it is a separate program I am using on another hard drive. I mentioned that fact in my topic as I was considering buying Creator 2009.as Roxio 10 will not work with HD.The video card is Intel Graphics Media Accelator 4500MHD w/ 1300 mb memory.
I have used Videowave in the past and can not remember having this problem but I was not editing these type of video files eg.,. VOB made on an older Video Camcorder.
The firmware is up to date from HP. There are no newer to date.
Everythis works in EMC 10 but the Videowave software I am using to edit the videos.

Well you don’t have a “graphics card” only a chip that may or may not do the job…
HD files are monsters – my PC, listed below, needs 12 ˝ hours to render a One Hour AVCHD!
I am leaning toward a Clean Install but let’s try this first…
Load a large conventional mpeg file and beat it up in VideoWave to see if it breaks.
Some other info for you. Yes your custom software that came with your camcorder may work. It was designed to work with minimum equipment. I am guessing it doesn’t do much or you wouldn’t be here…
Roxio is designed with a minimum hardware in mind. If you don’t have it, it won’t work!
There is little difference between EMC 10 and Creator 2009. If 10 don’t work, 2009 won’t either!

The only problem I have is with .VOB files when I try to edit them in VideoWave the program crashes. The MPEG-2 & 4 files work perfectly with VideoWave. For some strange reason when I convert the VOB files to MPG files and either save or burn them to a DVD there is a strong degradation of quality. If I burn the VOB files to a DVD without converting them using videowave they are great.
Bottom line is. I can not edit VOB files in VideoWave without the program freezing. If I simply copy the VOB video in VideoWave to a computer file or DVD it works OK and the video quality is as good as the original.
I can work with the files such as trimming, enhancing etc.if I convert the VOB files to MPG files such as renaming VOB to MPG, but the quality is so poor when I watch the video. Why is the quality so bad when I convert to MPG from VOB?
I'm sorry I mentioned the AVCHD as I have no problem with the software that came with the camcorder and I realize it is a skimpy program. That is why I mentioned I might upgrade to EMC 2009. So plese disregard any mention of HD AVCHD files as I am not concerned with this.
Thanks for the help, Walter
