I reciently, after following all of the steps in "Clean Installation of Creater 9 & 10 on Windows XP"
ReInstalled EMC-10.

I reinstalled because My Computer (a HP Pavillion with XP Home) would not register that I had a blank DVD in the record slot. (Note It will play a DVD it just won't register or record a DVD)

This problem continues even after I reinstalled EMC-10.

Any suggestions as to what may be the problem...

It is the burner which is not recognizing the blank disc. You need to check and update your burner's firmware.
