What does "not able to load the DVD into the DVD player" mean? Did the VCC burn complete? Can you play the iso file via "Image Loader"?
How long in time is your project?

There were no error messages at all. I thought everything was fine, but when I put the disc in the DVD player all I got was the initial blue screen and the prompt on the machine that said menu. I am using a brand of DVD called Ativa which I have used successfully before with Easy Media Creator.

It may not be the media, but that is how cheap media performs… One or more discs work fine, then poof some don’t.
Step over cheap media to reach for Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, you will never be sorry!

Walt,
The project is about 55 minutes long. The VCC burn was complete. "Not able to load" means that the front panel of the DVD displayed "menu" and it said that it was loading the DVD but the display would never progress pass the initial blue screen. It wouldn't actually load the menu and DVD. I tried to play the .iso file via Image Loader but couldn't figure out how to preview the image. Am I supposed to watch the movie or try to burn the DVD from this application?
Thanks,
Joseph

The idea is that if the ISO plays there, it eliminates the program from the equation.
Your disc doesn’t play but that could be from several causes.
Loading it an playing it in your PC is another test.
Just as using quality media.

I created a new ISO file and it plays on an emulated drive in the Image Loader appllication viewing it with Microsoft Windows Movie Player. However when I try to use Video Copy and Covert to copy the ISO it goes through all the motions and tells me that it is done, yet when I insert the DVD into the DVD player all I get is the blue screen and a prompt to play but it does not actually load the menu or the movie. I've tried changing some of the settings in Video Copy and Convert but the end result is the same. I've gone through at least six discs so I don't think it is the fault of the discs.
What is frustrating is that I have created DVDs before using the Roxio program but I can't remember how I did it. How can I be sure that I have all the settings set correctly?

OK, the ISO works and that eliminates the software that made it!
So now it is down to the software that burned it…
The burner…
The media…
ImgBurn is a free software that can burn the ISO file to disc. – that will test the software.
If that doesn’t work it only leaves your Burner or the Media.

Per one source on Ativa:
"The biggest issue with CMC is that it has seemingly loose quality control, with discs sometimes being okay, and sometimes being awful -- and beyond that your burner has to like it. Excellent FIRST CLASS media is not as picky in burners/recorders and players/readers, and is far more reliable in having constant and steady quality control." Here
Pick up some Verbatims and give them a try....

I downloaded the Image Writer program you suggested and it actually was able to burn a somewhat usuable version of the movie although it had lots of stops and starts and the audio was unstable. But I am making progress since I was able to actually see something with the DVD player. I had my son look at your suggestions and at my computer. He thought that beside the quality of the DVDs I might have a problem with the computer itself which may not have enough speed and memory to efficiently handle the Roxio program. He is going to copy the ISO file onto an external hard drive and then try to burn a DVD on his much faster computer. I'll let you know how that goes. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Speed has absolutely nothing to do with it – I burn ISO files on my old 550 Mhz PC all the time.
Everyone weighing in here says Burner or Media… I’m afraid we have gone as far as we can with this…
