copying problems

I have trouble copying files from a CD to a DVD-R using Roxio 9 (recently downloaded and appears to be intact). It does not seem to recognize the blank DVD-R in the drive.

You can't copy directly from a CD, to  DVD.

What program do you really have?  There is Roxio Creator 2009, where you posted, and there is Roxio Easy Media Creator 9.

They are not the same program.

Supply the info gpb asked for and a few more details on what you are trying to accomplish and how you are trying to do it?

There is a way to do that but it depends on what it is you are trying to do…
