After going through the driver problem and the no drive problem all seamed to be well.
When I try to convert my cds I get "There was a problem writing the file to disk"
and the cd ejects. I've tried several different cds (old and new) and get the same problem.
Please help!!

What are you actually doing?
What program within that Suite are you using?
What Driver – Drive problem are you referring too?

If the source disc is being ejected with this error, you have something set wrong with the destination of the MP3 files and the system is trying to write the MP3s back to your audio disc [which can't be done].
Make sure your MP3s are being sent to somewhere on your hard drive.

Driver problem:
Those of you who install this software in Vista will likely be told that there is a conflict between some of Drag-to-Disc's DLA drivers and Vista
Solved following Brendons instructions.
Suite:
Easy CD and DVD Burning (in Red Box) "Vista Compatible"
Version: 9.0.554
No drive problem:
If Windows can see your drive but your Roxio program can't recognize it, try the PX Engine update available from Sonic
Again, solved following Brendons instruction.
I'm trying to rip my cds to MP3 files.
Brendon,
Destination selection is my harddrive c: I've used the default destination as well as creating a new folder for the destination. The software actually creates a directory and a subdireectory aptly named with the artist and the album name. I thought the cds I tried to rip might be protected so I tried an old Incan music cd with the same results. Tried ripping just one song, same results.

That's good to hear and means your Easy CD & DVD installation is probably broke! I don't run this software, I would wait for Brendon's advice on what might fix the Easy CD & DVD installation...

There are two ways I'd suggest to try and get the software running properly again:
[1] do a straight uninstall through the Control Panel Add/remove programs, and then reinstall it again.
or
[2] Do the "Clean install" routine described in the page you'll reach by clicking on the link in cdanteek's signature array, #14 for Vista, or #15 for XP. Easy CD and DVD Burning is a cut-down version of EMC 9, so those routines apply to it same as to EMC 9
Solution [1] is easiest but might not work, and if it doesn't you should do [2].

I did the clean install and still recieve the same "There was a problem writing the file to disk" message.
I can copy a disk and copy a disk with staging to the hard drive. Any other suggestions?

The fact that CDex works fine would tend to rule out a mechanical fault with the burner.
The fact it happened with an old Incan disc should rule out copy protection - I won't get you to try an Ecuadorean one
You haven't actually confirmed where you are in the operation when the disc ejects.
-Please confirm, you are actually ripping from a CD to an MP3 file on the hard drive, when you get the error and the source disc is spat out ??
-Is there any MP3 file actually being written?
-Is there any error number or other information given?

It sees the size of the drive and actually creates a directory and subdirectory with the artist and album info.
Even when trying to convert just one song I get the same error and the disk ejects. Mybe I can return it to Staples, where I purchased it.

However, if you can't return it or you're going to keep trying, you still haven't answered me . . .
