I'm using Easy Cd & DVD Burning (red box). Trying to copy a dvd created by copying VHS home movies to a dvd. It seems to extract and burn my copy and ejects the dvd but the dvd then will not play with Windows Media Player or anything on my computer or on other computers or dvd players I have tried.

The only media I can get it to play on is the dvd player/copier that I originally used to transfer/copy the vhs movies to my original dvd.

My son was able to copy and play the original dvd on his computer (which is identical to mine) using another software.

Any suggestions?

Name and model # of the "dvd player/copier that I originally used" ?

I'm thinking it's a settop model and it's not recording in a compliant DVD Video format! That's why it only plays in that player...

And your trying to copy that disc in a pc using 'Easy Cd & DVD Burning (red box)' software, correct?

CD,
The original dvd was made on a VCR/DVD recorder which is a Sony DvRw550. I am trying to copy it using the Easy CD & DVD Burning (red box) software. My son was able to make a copy that worked using Magic DVD software.

One thing to note is that you will have to Finalize the Source Disc in the Sony Recorder if it is a ‘dash’ disc. (using ‘plus’ discs will avoid this requirement)

Then you use Copy Disc (my source is in the Sony – F:\ drive)

I had no trouble making a working copy when I just tried it…
