I purchased the Roxio Easy VHS to DVD and my very first obstacle to using it is that it says not to install if you "already have Creator 2009 on your computer". Instead I'm to go to the website to install a driver for Video Capture Device. I don't know if "Creator Basic V9 is the same thing? Hope someone can help me.

Creator Basic V9 is a 2 year old, limited version of EMC 9 which is no longer supported. It is a completely different from Roxio Creator 2009 which is the current version. VHS to DVD is an "offspring" from Creator 2009 and that is why the two cannot be installed on the same computer. VHS2DVD is mainly designed to be used for creating video DVD from your VHS tapes. It has some other features but that is the main one

You are throwing out a lot of names that don’t make any sense…
Do you have Creator 2009 installed on your PC???
If so, you cannot install Easy VHS to DVD!
But for the Capture USB device to work it must have a driver! For that you download and run Driver…
The confusing part was when you talk about V9 Basic which has absolutely nothing to do with anything.

You aren't talking to me here, are you?
Thanks to both of you for the info. I did get the driver downloaded last night. I really didn't know what the "Basic" was. I havn't ever used it.

Jim, you said that I didn't answer this post. I did, see above. Mr MyGuggi understood the terms I used and answered my question. My PC came with a program called Roxio Creator Basic v9. My original question was whether that was the same thing as Creator 9. I used the CD that came with my purchase of Easy VHS to DVD and got the driver downloaded.
Now I am needing help with the actual use of the software as I stated in my message to you. Thanks for your help.
