Is it possible to use the same copy of the media to install Creator 2009 on 2 different machines, using 2 different licenses (one for each install)? Or is the license key tied to the media that it comes with?

Why on earth would you do such a thing???

It is fixed to the disc though. It is going to mess up your Register here which could give you some grief down the road.

Hi
The media can be installed on two machines like xp/vista,if you have two keys then there should not be any probems.Problems occur when you try and register the same key twice.

If you are asking if you are able to use the same installation discs in order to install to 2 different systems using 2 different licenses, then Yes. License are normally tied to systems and not to the installation media (disc).
