Q: how long did you wait while you got "not responding"? It could take a wee bit of time while the program is working to decode the input and to finalize. What was the CPU and disk utilization for the program in question?
You see, you did not volunteer much of an information to work on.
Any system information you care to share? You said your car won't run, but we do not know the model of the car, its year. Or the road conditions, and what you did to troubleshoot in those countless hours! ;-)
So: what Windows Version are you running on what PC; what Roxio Suite are you using? Can you provide screenshots or something so that we can figure out what is going on? (We cannot look over your shoulder.)
Anything that would help us (users) to help you! (Think about what information you would need if you were tring to help a friend.)
I.e., you do not have success but I do not see those problems. So now let's try to find the little details between your environment and mine to help explain the mystery at hand!
Thanks.

Thank You for your quick reply. First, I am not computer savvy, but I do know I am running, Windows XP and using, Explorer 7. I have used the subject matter (VHS to DVD) a number of times (5 CD's). Each time the program worked as it was supposed to (what I paid for). For the last 2 days I am getting the no response. By the by, I tried again this morning and aited for about 10 minutes while the no response window was up...I gave-up and sent another error report. I would like to give you more information, but that is all I know. Again, thank You for your help.

I have V2D on an old 550Mhz and it works fine for Audio.
Assuming your HDD isn’t full or so fragmented it can’t find a place to put it, you are going to have to do a Clean Install. XP
If that doesn’t bring it back to normal, we can go from there.

A couple of questions. I have the created .wav file after the tape was successfully recorded. Is there anyway to import that file and have it do the processing of the file into tracks?
Are there any known work arounds for the "not responding" problem?
Thanks

you can further process the wave file and create one CD track, or, using tools such as Audacity (sourceforge) edit (even record your source to) wave files and create smaller pieces to then become CD tracks;
do not know re the "not responding" part; though I noticed that Vista (32 and 64) often seems to, well, forget, to provide necessary system resource to the calling program, and the program waits and waits and waits. This not related to Roxio software, happens to me frequently with IE8 (after having opened some 8 or so tabs), or with Outlook 2007 or Excel or....
Windows 7 appears to provide the cure of poor memory management seen in Windows Vista; so there is hope for a fix!
Hope this helps.

One more thing: I frequently notice that Vista has the very annoying habit to put important dialog boxes UNDER the relevant application! Have you tried to move the (main) Window? If Vista does not let you, then that definitely could be the case! For that try to minimize the application using Taskmanager — then you would see two windows being very quickly flash away; sometimes, Alt-Tab to another window or application then back could help, too.
Just a thought.

Like the other posters, if this is a problem you are seeing from within the program, it is Clean Install time.

At least my VHS conversion worked 80% of the time, but audio cassettes, nuthin. I know it's going IN 'cause I can see the 'squiggly lines' on WMP, but I got NO SOUND in or out. I'd 'attatch' some of my dozen or so .jpg's, but when I tried entire message disappeared. And, yes, all my volumes are up and working with everything else.
Has ANYBODY used ROXIO's video burner? That's got to be the most CONFUSING thing I've ever seen. So far ROXIO's been a HUGE waste of money, and I seriously doubt I'd EVER buy ANYTHING Roxio again. VHS to DVD was pretty much their 'last chance' and I was expecting disappointment and that's what I got. Roxio 'support' seems determined to blame everybody else, IF you can, 'contact' them with out their 'contact' form evaporating as soon as you hit 'submit' or 'attatch' and reverting back to orginal blank form.

People here did try to help you but you do not respond… Here
There are far too many satisfied users to give your product bashing much credence.
But you are correct, it isn’t Click & Smile! You have to sit down and put forth some effort to learn how to use the software. It sounds like you have mastered some, but your letting frustration blind you.
Fact of life, $60 does not buy you the we will fall all over you support
If you really do want some help, go back to your original thread or start a new one and list your specific problem, in detail and we will be more than happy to try to help you out.
