I have owned several versions of Roxio and this one is without a doubt the worse for hang ups.
Problem #1
I am running a Gateway with a pent 4 processor, 2 gig memory and the xp serv pack 3 operating system. I installed Creator 2009 and the home screen would not come up...period. I downloaded service pack 4 and that problem was solved.
Problem #2
I opened media manager and clicked on the small green arrow at the bottom of the video thumbnail. I watched 2 or 3 short (less than 30 seconds) videos and then the entrie computer locked up when I selected one more video. the videos were .mov and 3gp types. This problem has not been resolved.
Problem #3 I wanted to pull several of the videos that I had taken with my phone together into a single video. I was using the video editor to do this and when I clicked on a video clip to view it the system locked up. All my videos are stored on my C drive and I have plenty of room on it.
I am tired of restarting my computer via a power down so I have stopped using the product. I am hoping the store that I purchased this product from will refund my money, if not it's $80 down the drain.
The worst part of the hang ups is that you can not use the task manager to clear them.

It is funny how we perceive things. While 2009 can be a hair ripper to install, I consider it to be the smoothest, most trouble free running to date and I started with Ver 3
OK so “problem 1” was fixed and was a known issue with a resolution since last November… It only happens with a few PC's and was fixed with SP1, which carried into SP2, 3 and 4.
The other 2 problems you are seeing do indicate something is amiss… You did not really list any of your computer specs, only assurances that everything is warm and fuzzy
Since you are only running XP and a P4, I would suspect your video card OR the install didn’t go quite right.
The Clean Install is the only way to test or fix an installation problem - XP
