OK as another update I tried to create a new Blu-ray with two new videos. Like before I built it with the exact same production and setting and tried to first create an image. Guess what. I got the error that I received earlier in this thread when I tried to burn directly to the Blu-ray disk.

My original guess was that this error is a function of the amount of free space available or size of the production. Now that it is happening trying to create the ISO file I'm thinking there is some basic coding error in the release I have. I'm going to double check that I have the latest versions of everything and try this again.

Any other ideas that you folks might suggest would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I just received my Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate today and I tested burning a menu and a mp4 video to a BD-RE disk that has been written to and erased several times. I get the same symptoms described in this thread. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Blu-Ray burner ultrabay enhanced drive (serial ATA) model number 43R9150 and the BD-RE disk is made by Phillips BD-RE 25GB. My blu-ray burner works fine when I drag and drop a video file from video file in computer to BD-RE drive in computer. So I was just wondering, has there been any progress on this issue?

When a thread is 5 months old, not a good idea to jump in with a me too posting…

Since you didn’t spell it out, we don’t really know what errors you are getting…

You indicate you can burn a Data disc project OK but not a BD Movie. Laptops, generally do not make the best platform for Video work. I would love to dismiss it as that but several of us have gotten the AuthorScript error and no one knows why or what the ‘fix’ is!

It only shows up in BD or AVCHD projects.

We have tried several things but just as soon as one thing works one time, it fails the next!

Here are some of the things we tried…

Changing the render method from Hardware to Software – MyDVD – Tools – Options – Render

“Burning” to file (ISO) then using Home app – Data – Burn Disc Image to burn the ISO file to disc.

One I think worked (2 our of 6 tries…) was to use the proxy file from VideoWave instead of the raw HD mp4. But you didn’t say if you were even using HD sources?

So supply us some info and try these things out. Maybe with enough of us we can hit the right recipe laugh.gif

Ok ok I found Burn Disc Image but when browse for the file I can't find it. Even when I go to my dvd and find it there, copy and paste, return to Burn Disc Image and browse and put the copied file in :C:\Users\RICHARD\Videos\image.iso I get the message that file doesn't exist.

I didn't spell it out because this thread spelled it out for me:http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=49575&st=0&gopid=285585&#entry285585

And yes I am using a laptop with a 2.53ghz quad processor 1gb video graphics 8gb ram 18.4 inch screen 1920 x 1080p (HP HDX18t)

I thought mp4 was high definition anyways the video is 1920 x 1080 x 30p I did a test video so the video is only 41.1mb

I did render in both hardware and software same error message: Project_BuildToDevice() AuthorScript call failed. Error while  Writing Format

"Home app?" talk about skipping details. can't find "Home app" anywhere. also, can't find Data - Burn Disc Image to burn the ISO file to disc.

??? if you don’t have 2009 Ultimate you can’t even select a BD project. It is not even an option you will see in the menu!

Either 2009 Ultimate is needed or the BD Plug-in.

I don’t understand how you could have even tried to do the Project the first time???

OHHH, but I do have Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate. I f you read the fine print you will find out that you need the BD Plug-in for both Roxio Creator 2009 and Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate, see http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/creator/...quirements.html That's what the rebate was all about, You get $20.00 back from Roxio and apply it towards the purchase of the plugin. ( when you click "buy download" the discounted price of $19.99 shows up) laugh.gif

If you are happy with it, OK but it is simply not true...

ggrussel is one that have been burning BD's without any Plug-In for some time now.

Here is a shot of the 2009 Ultimate Features - it is already included.

It's also stated on the box that Roxio creator 2009 Ultimate came in " Blu-Ray authoring requires an additional High-Def/Blu-Ray Disc Plug-in which can be purchased at www.roxio.com" blink.gif

If you have the Ultimate, then you would have gotten another disc with SonicFirePro, Bias SoundSoap, Back-on-Track and the plug-in.

Do you have the other applications? Did you install that other disc?

Yes, I installed disc 2 but there is no record of plugin on that disk. I called Sonic solutions and they said plug-in is not included with Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate ninja.gif

This is what happened when I clicked on your attachment:Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available.

So if ggrussel has been burning BD's with no problems then why is everyone else having problems? Without Plug-in? rolleyes.gif

So what? He has read thousands of post and answered almost as many. What he tells you is the truth. Roxio perhaps didn't understand what you were saying. Do you have the other programs? I don't have a blu-ray burner either but do many AVCHD discs.

The is a version that was sold by a buying club that included the USB capture device; Roxio was running a special where you could get the blu-ray plug in free.

Perhaps you got one of these bundles?

I got Roxio Creator 2009 Ultimate at amazon for $69.99 and a rebate of $20.00. So mine's cheaper. The plug-in's $19.99 And I don't need USB capture device. My HD cam is Samsung SC-HMX20c Which sends hd video as MP4 files to my computer via usb mad.gif

I have Creator 2009 Ulimate and the Plugin was installed automatically when I install the suite.

Don't need a Bluray burner to create a Bluray project and burn to folder or ISO! For testing purposes, I burn to folder and then play that using Cineplayer. Works fine for me.

There may be an issue with your files. Can you upload a sample file at UpforDown or YouSendIt so we can check it? I believe the files need to be 200MB or smaller. A good 15 to 20 second file should be fine.

I do have a blu-ray burner and I was actually able to test whether I could burn to my burner, And as I stated in previous reply I purchased and installed plug-in and now I can burn projects to blu-ray
