or even "Add Movies"
I get a message box that says
VideoConvert11
Tools
const m_strClass = "#32770"
const m_strButtonClass = ""
const m_strParent = NULL
const m_iID = 1054

Well… there is no Fix It button and something is broken pretty bad.
That only leaves the Clean Install:
Vista
XP

Why would code synpits be put in a message box? Where is in the code are these constants set? Can your programmers locate these constants?
Why is Roxio so brittle? It seems people have all sorts of problems with installations, with sound, with burning, etc?

No one here works for Roxio unless they are clearly identified, so I can not answer your coding questions
The install is not the best but “numbers” here are not telling you anything. Go to your favorite car dealer and sit in the Service Department waiting room. Except for you, everyone in there has a problem, therefore that make of car is junk!
Are you really seeing millions of posts here? Becasue they have sold millions of packages worldwide by now...

I understand all that.. it is just that when Roxio goes south - it takes a lot of other things with it. Remember the old "Toaster" problem? The one where when you installed Toaster as part of CD Creator 4 and it overwrote a Microsoft .DLL that made booting possible from your C-drive possible BUT when you deinstalled Creator 4 to install Creator 5 ROXIO deleted that DLL so that after you installed Crerator 5 and rebooted - guess what - the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH - meaning it wouldn't boot from your C drive becuase that DLL was missing? Well, I could get to all my files on my C drive - just couldn't boot. So, I has to reinstalll Windows which, wiped out my registery, so I also had to reinstall the world.
The point is that there is history with us folks who have used Roxio from way back and we remember our Roxio horror stories. Tell me another package that could cause so much damage when it fails? Name one? I understand that Roxio fiddles with the drives so that it can create, image, and copy all sorts of DVDs and such - but still, after all these releases one would expect a more stable product that doesn't cause so much damage that all you are left to recover is a "clean install". How any of us have gone thru the clean install process more than once?, twice? three times? four times? Just read the postings. Almost every help mesage back is to do a "clean install". Is the product so brittle that it can't trap errors, send configuraton info to Roxio so they can better improve the product in the next release? And we keep having to pay full price for every new release every year - about $100 or so ($69 at COSTCO).
Does Quicken fail like Roxio? Does Microsoft Project, Visio, Access, and such file like Roxio (i.e. BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH). What about all teh Adobe products - acrobat, photoshop, etc? Do they fail and then make you do a "clean install"? I run many Enterprise Architecture tools - like System Architect - and it doesn't fail and give coding statements in message boxes?
I know you are just a user like me but can't we expect more failure trapping in Roxio software so that we don't always wind up doing a "clean install"? Make the product more stable and not prone to failures. Increase Roxio's QA/QC efforts. That is all I am asking for.
