I just bought Easy VHS to DVD for Mac and had some problems getting the computer to recognize the signal. Nor could I get any sound to become audible. Until I did one thing. I disconnected the USB cable extension Roxio provides in the package and plugged the capture device directly into the computer. Everything worked fine after that.

Roxio's own knowledge base warns against using the extension or a USB hub as signal quality can deteriorate drastically. My question? If you shouldn't use an extension, why is Roxio including one in the package? dry.gif

Hope this helps. biggrin.gif

Because they work fine for others, I have 3 different extension cables and no problems.

I would suspect your extension is faulty.

I am having the same problem and have removed the extension and still no sound. I have taken sound from the VCR to a piece of different USB audio hardware and that works fine.

I’m wondering if the audio has to be stereo, because my VCR has only monaural sound. Got any ideas? Thanks.

When you're getting no audio, on the audio preview screen, try unplugging and plugging the USB device in.
