i have data disks i would like to retrieve . they were made on an windows machine with windows xp. the version of roxio was 7.5. i now have an upgraded windows vista machine with creatoe 10.when i put disks in retrieve on the new machine comes up saying the disk has been ejected ( and it isn't) it gives me no pop up to enter the passwords which i have . Any work around for this? any help out there for this issue would be appreciated.

There was more than one, actually 4, ways that you could have written these in V7.

Can’t give you anything unless you can tell us what program you used…

If you can ‘look’ at the discs with Explorer and tell us what the files look like that would help.

What program did use in 7.5 to create the disc. If you used  Drag to Disc (packet writing), you cannot retrieve those files without a lot of difficulty.  Did you drag the files to a disc that you formatted? that would be packet writing.

Let us know.

And can you examine the disc with Explorer?

If so you will find Retreive.exe on them, run it!

Sure hope you have the password somewhere
