I am new to the forum and new to making a dvd from still images. I have creator 2009 and Windows XP. I want to make a dvd of some beach pictures & mountain pictures. I want someone to be able to click on a button for the beach pictures to view that, instead of watching the entire slideshow. I started in video wave and have the pictures, transitions and music that I like for the dvd. I sent the production to my dvd . I get lost at this point. I can create a button but I can't figure out how to put the pictures to a button. I found out how to view the pictures as a preview but can't seem to do anything else. Can someone help me? I am lost at this. Is there somewhere you can watch a viedo on how to make a dvd?

Just make separate projects in Edit Video -Advanced. (Edit the projects you have by putting them back into Video Wave and cut out what you don't want. SAVE THAT PRODUCTION WITH A DIFFERENT T NAME. Close that and open the original project. Cut out what you don't want and again save with a different name. Open Create DVD Advanced and add each of those projects as a separate movie.
If you try to do chapters from the original file you've created, you can select where to start but then the movie continues to the end.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

I made two new productions in video wave and saved them. I closed video wave and open create DVD Advance. I clicked on add new movie and I selected production from my documents. I get a error. The file you are trying to use cannot be edited, and has not been added. I am not sure what to do at this point. How do you add a button for that production? I would appreciate any help.

Are you adding the project files that have the extension "dmsm" which should have been generated by Videowave when you saved your VW project files?

No . It just had it as a Roxio Production and the KB. of the Production. When I said save, why it was not saved in the correct format? Is there a book I can buy to help with making a DVD? I have read Roxio manual but it is vague on making a DVD Production?

If you create a project in Video Wave and SAVE it, it will be automatically saved as a "dmsm: file unless you changed the extension. If you did, change ot back. If you didn't, search your computer for that extension.

Your post is unclear on what you are doing. When you save your project in Videowave it always creates a file with the dmsm extension. This is the one you add in myDVD. If you want to create a video of your project you don't "save" but use the "OutpuTt" option.
What is "KB. of the Production"
Here is an excellent post on the workflow strategy on creating a DVD

I was able to save both Productions as a DMSM file. When I had the correct file and opened MyDVD I had the two titles in the preview window. Had to go to the project view and click on which production I wanted to play. I found once you started to play the production it would not stop at the end. It kept playing over & over.Is that normal? I did burn the project to a dvd and it seems to be working OK. Thanks for everyone who helped. I would never been able to figure this out on my on. Thanks again for the help.

To preview your production in myDVD you don't play "play" via the project view . The behaviour you described is normal though. You click on the "preview" button in the menu bar for the Preview window. You will then get your full production including the menus appearing in the Preview Window
