I am running my system with Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I have two 1.5 terabyte drives and two optical drives. One is a blue ray read/write and the other is a dual layer dvd read/write. Capture of video from a vhs player via the usb device does not work. After a few calls to Roxio tech support it has been determined that the Creator 2009 has a problem with the capture command if the target drive is larger than 1 terabyte. At least this is the case under Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I confirmed this issue by purchasing a 500 GB drive and connecting it to the usb port on my computer. Capture works exactly as it should. I am awaiting a patch/update from Roxio. Hope I don't have to wait too long. The whole reason for the large drives is because I have a lot of vhs that needs editing and transfer to optical disks
Cannot capture video to HD >1TB with Creator 2009

Known flaw - No fix - None coming...
Don't know if it carried into Creator 2010?
I know this does not help you but drives larger than 1TB are simply not that common. 2009 has been out for a year and there have ony been a few posts about it.
I assume it only applies to Capture??? Once you move the files over to your 1.5TB HDD's you can edit and burn from them OK???

Only capture so far as I know. I have not yet tried to move the files from the 500gb external drive but don't expect any trouble with that. I can't believe Roxio won't fix this. Drives are getting cheaper and cheaper and you can get a 1.5 tb drive for a little over $100. I saw a 2tb drive for about $150. There will be more and more systems with them. Interesting that you said this was a "known problem". The first two tech support techs weren't aware of it. Finally talked to a gal who had it together and let me know what was going on. It would be interesting to know if it is fixed in Creator 2010. Perhaps they will give me a free upgrade instead of a patch. Sure.

Yah, that free upgrade will arrive balanced on the [u]tip of a unicorn’s horn[/I]
I think, if were “easy” to fix, it would have been fixed…
Don’t know about the 2010 regarding this.

Going to have to close this Topic up.
Note that it only applied to HDD that are more than 1TB in size and people are posting to it with unrelated problems...
