I am trying to convert my AVCHD (.MTS) to AVI to edit in Premiere Pro 2. Supposedly Roxio Creator 2009 does this, but I've had no luck.

I used the Sync function, Drag and convert and it just says "Conversion has been cancelled".

I used the "Edit Video automatically" and it created MPEG videos that were erratic and had no video once imported into PP2.

Any suggestions? From what I've read in this forum, conversions don't work as advertised.

Thanks.

What camcorder created the files? I had no problem converting 720p AVCHD .mts file to AVI using Videowave.

I am using the Canon Vixia HG 20, 60 GB.

I tried the "export as" function from Video Wave also and that also didn't work either.

Thanks for the help. Any more suggestions?

You could post a sample file on UPforDown or similar service. We would be willing to test on own machines to see if we have the same issue.

With YouSendIt, you would need an email address. With UpforDown, just go to page and copy the link. Paste in it a message here. LIke this:
