Ok, I just bought Roxie Creator 2009 Special Edition that came with the hardware to convert vhs. tape etc. to a digital format. I just bought a new computer this was the first program I installed to try it out.  My computer has 1TB of storage space, 12GB of memory, running the Intel Core i7 920@2.66GHZ. First two movies I converted went fine. The third movie I have tried, told me I didn't have enough disk space, I have over 900GB free.  So, I changed the destination drive to my external hard drive which has about 250GB free, it says I have 4.0GB free. Not sure if I have something set wrong, its copying about 45min of movie.  The weird thing is it started capturing the movie about 10min into it even though I clicked on it to capture well before the movie started. I am running Vista 64 bit version. Thanks for the help.

off topic: I tried searching for problems with capturing VHS, but the search kept telling me I had a word less then 3 letters and I couldn't search because of it.  Is there some way to search for words that are 3 letters or less?

Wrong disc space is a known issue with hard drives over 1TB.   You shouldn't have a problem capturing to the external 250GB drive.

I don't know why you would have problems with the 1TB hard drive, but it may be a problem with the file.  Did you reboot between conversions?  If not, try it.

The problem you have, with the external is, it is more than likely formatted as FAT32.  It needs to be formatted NTFS to handle file sizes over 4GB.

My external hard drive is Fat32, so I will backup the data on it and reformat it to NTFS.  Rebooted the computer and it seems to have worked for the 1st video today.  2nd video stopped about 6min into it, so I am retrying it, not sure if my wife hit something on the computer when she was using it.  Thanks for the help.

I hope you are not trying to use your computer while capturing - that will quickly give you a failed capture. blink.gif

Good idea to backup the data first, but I have successfully converted FAT32 partitions to NTFS without losing any data using the Windows "Convert" command.

From the Windows Help:

Open the Command Prompt window.
In the command prompt window, type
convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs

For example, typing convert D: /fs:ntfs would format drive D: with the ntfs format.

Alternatively, if you've backed everything up, you can simply reformat to NTFS.

Good luck!
