I have just purchased easy VHS to DVD and before I start taking it out of the box and trying it, I was wondering if by using the capture adapters, can you capture to another software editing program, say like sony vegas ,for example? I used to transfer my VHS video thru a minicamcorder to DV and then edit and burn. I found that the quality was very much the same as that on the VHS taper (which was not great, but they are home video stuff of my children and family from 20 years back). I didn't want to use Roxio to find out that it encodes and then after edits etc, re-encodes making quality a lot poorer than it already is. I have vista 64 with latest updates running on my computer. I am assuming this will install okay woihout issue on vista..? If I can get the same quality that I got by using the analog-to digial passthrough on my sony minidv camcorder, I'll be happy and run with it.

Did Not work on the Version I have – Platinum 7. Got me all excited, then said there was an error
You can of course capture in V2D and use Sony Vegas to edit then either DVD Architect to Burn or MyDVD.
I personally find Vegas very slow and cumbersome to use as an editor. I already gave the disc away so it will only survive until I format that HDD.
Oh, V2D does not work like you described unless you go out of your way to make it run that way... Look through This.
