If I remove Roxio Creator 2010, it works fine!
What is wrong here? I am about to give this back as every year there is some issue putting in this programn... this one I can not find a solution for...
Yes, I did a clean install after taking out 2009....
Something happens at shutdown which is odd..
Anyway if anyone has any ideas or the same issue please let me know

No VIsta 32 Bit...
Not hardware because it happens on both a laptop and a desktop.. totally different hardware...
When I Uninstall Roxio Creator 2010 the issue goes away!! So it is driver or something related..
DOes any of those reocvery programs do something at logoff? I dont use them.. but just tyring to figure out why this is happening.
I googles and someone else had a similar issue with older roxio software.
Thanks for your help... and thanks mod for not deleting as I am frustrated enough.

Try to write down the call stack, usually the process at the top of the list is the culprit.
From there we can see which driver is causing your problem.
I understand your frustration, some mods are trigger happy on the close thread button.

See the screenshot here, the problem was caused by ntoskrnl.exe, KSecDD.sys

If you ever reinstall, try to grab the lower section of the screenshot.
EDIT: I wonder if you have any USB device connected when shutting down, something you connect only when using roxio, such as a USB Capture device or TV Tuner?

If you are the person who was posting yesterday as MikeNYNY, you already have a topic running in the Installation/Uninstallation forum on this very same thing.
http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=55742
Please decide which NAME you want to continue under, and which topic you want to continue with, as duplication causes confusion and a waste of people's efforts.

In any case I saw your post on the other thread which you can delete....
The last line does say STOP something or another... My notebook still has the program on it....
Let me just say this is DEFINITELY related to Roxio Creator 2010. Some driver is not agreeing with Visa or something...
I dont see the Blue screen on my laptop as it reboots after a half hour with an error ut doesnt show the bluescreen or does it too fas tto see what is going on..
The error was DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
Nothing is plugged into any USb ports.
This is very frustrating... On one macine I had to restore it and am using Creator 2009 with no issues.. On the laptop I am using 2010 but cant keep it there if this issue keeps happening.. I did the install totally clean turned off virus proteciton and everything.

You may have read my post, but you certainly haven't answered it. Please answer it. I'll repeat it for you. . . .
Underneath that text there should be a vital series of numbers which tell what the problem is caused by. It will look a little like this:
Stop 0x0000009f (0x00000002,0x82397de0,0x823e8e40,0x823b18e8)
Would you tell us exactly what the error screen shows you please?

To answer your questions, I have the FULL version purchased agfter the upgrade didn't appear to work....
I did the clean install.. In fact I know the steps by heart....
This bluescreen error GOES AWAY after I uninstall Roxio. Brendon are you an official Roxio person, that can check into this, or do I need to open a ticket elsewhere?
Over the years I have had many issues with Roxio products. One year it wouldnt install. Another year a registry key was being tanked by registry clears that made the program not function... And every install takes a day of time to do that uninstall and clean and reinstall. Most programs automaticallyt unsintall the old version.... I do not understand how come this software compared with all others has to be such a project...? I look forward to using it, and then there is an issue always.
So can you or someone check into this error... I saw someone else got it years ago via a google search and they said it had something to do with some drivers.... Whatever it is, something is causing this issue...
Thank you for your help....
Mike
PS - I can not provide any other information as I do not own the program anymore.. I will be re-buying it when this is fixed or someone tells me a sure fire way to fix it so I am not wasting my time....

Doesn’t it strike you odd that it only happens to you???
If it were really an error in the software don’t you think the boards would be filled with messages like yours?
You also had a lot of trouble with 2009 – that the majority of others did not…
You have something going on with your PC’s that is the root of this. It is not a Roxio issue.
Could be something seemingly innocent like Magic Jack… That is what you need to look at.

Mike,
To date you have been telling me - "The car isn't going, and I'm not going to tell you any more. You're the mechanic, you fix it."
You've sold the car to a wrecker now, so that's an end to it. Without the information you have steadfastly declined to tell me, it's not going to get fixed.
There is no point in continuing this topic.

I am running the current version of VISTA Home Premimum 64 Bit with current patches on an AMD quad type core system. Systems has been shutting down fine until the installation of C-2010 Pro. This was an upgrade installation from C-2009 Standard. I can provide additional information if needed, but so far it looks very similar to the information that Mike is supplying. I have not tried to deinstall and then re-install to see if the problem disappears after the deinstall. Jim S.

1. Go to Roxio 2010 --> Applications --> Roxio Burn Options
2. Deselect or uncheck the optical drive/s
3. Click Ok
4. Try a reboot and see if the issue is persistent.

I also de-installed the third-party applications that came with Pro to see if that was causing issues. Nope, didn't make any difference.
I've posted this problem with Roxio Tech Support and made mention to this thread, but so far have not heard any response to this problem.

Odd it only happens to me? No... I have top of the line computers and Roxio has had major install issues since version 4...
2009 had an issue with a registry cleaner.. or was that 2008? WHichever... there is a problemn with Roxio EVERY year. There is NO OTHER PROGRAMS that require these clean installs that take hours. You can simply install without problems. Roxio is just a mess with this.
My PC changes to the latest every year. It is not an issue.. It MAY be an issue with other software.. BUT that shouldn't matter as Roxio shouldn't have an issue... no other software does... This isn't 1990...
And the professionalism on this board is incredibly rude. I have already spoken about this on my national show... You are calling me a Magic Jack for some reason above... what does that mean...??? T
I installed and returned 2010 loing ago. Onb my next computer upgrade I wouldn't think of installing a Roxio product. I really needed the Tivo file compatitiblity but there are small simple proggrams that work even better.
Good way to lose people... what a mess
