angry.gif having purchased 2009 creator just wondering if I'm the only one who feels ripped that 2010 will cost as much as 2009!

Seems that I may have shallow pockets or unreasonal expectations... or both, as it would seem update status would be more appropriate for 2009 customers?

Maybe i am the only one... love the product & have since using my Dad's #4 0r maybe #5 years ago!

How does that line of thinking work out a your local car dealer???

How about McDonalds  laugh.gif

They do have upgrade pricing and of course 2009 qualifies.

let me see... if I traded my 09 Chevy van for an 010 I'm sure that I wouldn't be paying the same price.

plus I did get a free software? update at the 2nd oil change to one of the on boards for engine timing.

I realise that the argument has many sides but am willing to bet that the 010 platform, as they say in the auto ind, is pretty much the same!

as for McD's give me a break - we are not talking 1.09 Cnd $ consumables here!

RBF (still ticked in Ontario)

By the way Nice Grand daughters - going to have to add a pic of mine Eleda, aged 2 if I ever get the time to figure out how... gotta go

only slightly less ticked in ON

You don’t trade in software – now go to your dealer, the one that liked you so much when you bought your last van, and see where that gets you today on a new purchase…

Roxio will give you a 25% discount to Upgrade, got any car dealers willing to do that???

Even MS only allows around 20% discounts on upgrades.

Sorry but that is just the way it is.

my 09 is worth at least 75% of the value of an 010 (actually 80%) as I buy new every year for the company wheels (from the same dealer I might add)

& MS upadtes more of the software on my machine for free (most WAS free or came on the HD) than not!

& even quite a few of the photo & word processors that I use do so as well til there is a revamping of operating systems or such.

things can't be that different where I am... well except healthcare...

former RCAF member 66-68 & CAF 68-72 & CECAF 72-75

don't have a bio yet & don't know if I'll bother but just wanted to add that

Apples to Apples!

MS nor anyone else ever gave you free upgrades… You got free updates and for that matter Roxio has given you 4 of them.

You can’t trade in software and if you go to your car dealer without a trade he isn’t going to knock off 25% because you bought from him last year.

I do have other things to do besides dabble in Reality 101  biggrin.gif

We will agree to disagree…

I agree

but if I purchased an encyclopedia & found out that I had to buy a new one to stay current instead of an update i would be really ticked

anyway I'm raising the white flag on this one

RBF

Good enough!

I understand the RCAF would most likely be Royal Canadian Air Force, but not the CAF & CECAF (fishing?)…

Please explain.

in 68 the RCAF, RCA, & RCN were unified into Canadian Armed Forces by the Minister of Defence, a much hated man named Hillier. one of the saddest times in our history!

took away our ( in my case blue serge) uniforms & gave us what we refered to as Royal Canadian Marine Corps green nylon (of all the possible fabrics the worst)

all is well now, since 1998 all 3 forces have new uniformes & Airmen can once againg proudly wear blue! & the little brown jobs & swabbies got their own as well.

raised as an Air Force brat & proud to do my own service, it was the last straw.  finished my 3yr obligation +1 & re-upped as a Civilian Employee Canadian Forces (seems I added an extra A) in the same trade for another 3yrs before finally leaving to work for AVRoe & DeHaviland.

then, Chance Vought Corsair (now General Dynamics) hired me away for 5yrs to what became their A6 programme in San Diego

so I've lived & or served the Armed Forces all my life til I was 30 from France, Germany, England & Holland with our NATO forces to 5 Canadian provinces & California & Nevada... as well as brief tours in Cypress, Egypt, & Biafra wearing the blue beret of The UN

I now own a small delivery operation both ground & air and am happily more or less retired & helping to look after my grand daughter & around Christmas time her brother.

I still don't like reality... although it is a fascinating concept!

anyway seems something is my fault (I did mention I was happily married ) & I better go see what I've done... or not

& I still have Health Care!

I should write a book - oops too late!
