I have spoken to the help desk and they advised me to purchase a switchable scartt connector, I bought one but it to five days to deliver and my ticket had been closed out as I had not contacted them within five days, a small problem which I have now overcome, but!      
I have had to reinstall the easy VHS to DVD programme a couple of times now as I cannot get from step 1 to step 2 on the plug and burn section of the programme, the next button is not highlighted so cannot go to the capture section.  Before I reinstalled the programme I could get to the capture section, but only audio could be heard, no video was ever seen in the capture section, but since the last install even this function has stopped.

Not sure whose idea it was to name the capture device as Easy VHS to DVD but easy to install and get working it isn't easy, still trying after 2 months to even get one of our old videos converted to a DVD and there is no mention of having to purchase a switchable scartt connector to make the programme work, until you contact the help desk, whom I found more than helpful.

Start with cdanteek’s and compare pictures to make sure you have a valid install.

And read the one on Plug & Burn too so you don’t was anymore time with that.
