I have the Roxio Creator 9 Home that I am using to put some LP's on to my computer but it will only record in 16 bit. I have a 24 bit soundcard. Does the 2010 do 24 bit recording/modification/conversion for audio?

EAC - Exact Audio Copy, is only for ripping CDs, and has nothing to do with capturing via sound card. So, since CD Audio is 16-bit, EAC will only use 16-bit, but that has nothing to do with the original question.

So, just looking through LP & Tape Converter, and Capture from Sound Card options, I only have 8 and 16 bit options, but that's all my audio devices support, so if Creator 2010 supports 24 bit capture, it may not show it since my hardware doesn't support it.

Just a question, what is your intended use/destination for your 24 bit audio?

First off define what software you have Easy Media Ceator 9 or Roxio Creator 2009 both bought Retail Versions? Or some free version that came with the pc or other piece of hardware?

I don't think any version of Roxio supports 24bit audio..

If you have a sound card that supports 24 bit audio like my Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Music, you can use the software that came with the sound card.

I think we're talking about Easy Audio Capture in EMC 9 Dave, and whether EAC in Creator 2010 will handle 24-bit recording.

Well isn't that just a kicker! Never used that part of the Suite. thanks for pointing that out. But yes, I realized we were trying to figure out if Creator 2010 would handle 24-bit recording, and I can't prove or disprove it.

[edit] Okay... and as I look again at the options I was looking at earlier today, I was indeed in Easy Audio Capture, and didn't have 24-bit options.

Even with my Tri-corder I can't capture something that isn't there, Jim.

Using Digitize LP's and Tapes offers (more options)..

Roxio Creator 2010 Pro does not support 24 bit audio even if your sound card does..

Sure you can. Just a matter of choosing the right input. The Assistant just makes a few things easier. I prefer to run Sound Editor and click capture audio, it uses Easy Audio Capture.

Sure you can. As you see in your own screen capture, LP & Tape Assistant pulls up Easy Audi Capture to do that. If you run Sound Editor and click capture audio, it also uses Easy Audio Capture.

Gary, the first screen capture is showing Easy Audo Capture and its options..

The second screen capture shows Roxio LP and Tape Assistant and its options..

Anyway, how does any of this answer the OP's question does Creator 2010 do 24 bit audio when his sound card supports it?

Does your way of capturing audio in Creator 2010 support 24 bit audio?

As far as I know, Creator 2010 does not support 24bit sound just like Creator 2009. I thought that was already answered. If the OP wants 24 bit audio capture, there is always the freeware Audacity which handles 16, 24, and 32bit recording and editing.
